What is Polybit?
Polybit is a marketplace for standardized financial event markets. Polybit defines the listed structures and settlement conditions; users choose a market and amount, review the economics, and confirm a position. The public beta currently showcases BTC markets on testnet, while the platform is designed to support additional financial markets over time.
Is this real money?
No. The current public beta runs entirely on testnet infrastructure. Do not send real funds.
Do I need a wallet?
You can explore the beta with an email and password account. Polybit is designed for non-custodial wallet-based settlement, but production wallet settlement is not enabled in this demo.
How are positions settled?
Positions remain open until expiry. At expiry, the market's published settlement condition determines the outcome and final payout.
Who creates the markets?
Polybit creates and standardizes the listed markets. Each market has predefined terms, including its structure, strike or range where applicable, expiry, and settlement condition. Users choose from the markets available in the marketplace.
How are quotes formed?
Polybit is built around an RFQ model. After you select a market and amount, eligible liquidity providers can compete on price and capacity. Polybit presents the best available executable terms for confirmation. The public beta demonstrates this flow on testnet; production LP execution is not yet live.
What does liquidity mean?
Liquidity available represents provider capacity for that market. Max amount is the maximum supported ticket size under the current terms.
How does Polybit handle custody?
Polybit is designed so users retain control of their wallet credentials. Polybit never asks users to surrender seed phrases or private keys.
